About The Stratford-upon-Avon Canal, The Grand Union Canal and The Lapworth Link, Kingswood Junction and Lapworth Locks 19 and 22.

The canal provides a connection via the Lapworth Link with the Grand Union Canal about halfway along it's route at Kingswood Junction towards the bottom of the Lapworth Lock Flight between Locks 19 and 22. Narrowboats can go between the two canals - if heading from Birmingham then narrowboats can turn left just after Lock 19 and use the Lapworth Link Lock 20 and narrowboats coming from the south would turn right after Lapworth Lock 22 and going under Bridge 36a.

For anyone interested in seeing quite a variety of "canal locks, bridges and features" then a visit to this part of the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal is well worth considering. In the immediate area there is so much to see - barrel roof cottages, ponds, turnover bridges, wrought iron bridges, lots of locks, old canal buildings such as ex-pumphouses - with everything set in a really beautiful surroundings. There is a grass area next to the canal which has several picnic tables are also quite a few seats along the towpaths so you can sit and watch whats going on as the barges and boats work their way through the junction. There is a small car park right at Brome Hall Lane right next to the canal - this is only large enough to take perhaps 20 cars but there are usually spaces during week-days.
